WPS OFFERS ADVICE FOR SAFELY USING APPLIANCES FOR HOME HEATING

As residents across the Northland are braving the winter freeze, Wisconsin Public Service offers some sound advice for using heating appliances in the home. Space heaters should be set up on a flat surface at least 6 feet away from flammable materials, and should be plugged directly into a wall outlet. LINCOLN COUNTY – Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 29 traffic stops, 47 security checks, 10 calls involving cars hitting deer, two for cars hitting coyote and one report of a car hitting a dog. There were seven reports regarding unsafe driving. On Saturday January 18th, deputies placed a 26-yr-old woman from Merrill under arrest for OWI 4th offense following a traffic stop on USH 51 near Lincoln Dr. One of the deputies trained in recognition of impairment noticed the woman appeared to be under the influence and placed…
