SUMMER ATV TRAIL UPDATE: LINCOLN COUNTY TO DELAY MAY 1 OPENING

The Lincoln County Forestry, Land and Parks Department recently shared an update regarding Summer ATV Trail conditions. Given recent wet conditions and frost still working its way out in several locations, trails will not be opening on May 1 and will remain closed until further notice. TICK APP OFFERS OPPORTUNITY TO PREVENT TICK ENCOUNTERS

The Lincoln County Health Department is reminding residents that the onset of warmer weather also means ticks are back across our outdoor-loving state! To help with preparedness for preventing tick bites, the Health Department recommends downloading the Tick App. The free app developed by the University of Wisconsin helps prevent tick encounters and tick-borne diseases. When finding a tick, you can report it on the app to help researchers better understand ticks and the illnesses they spread.

MERRILL FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WEEK ENDING APRIL 27

MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 44 calls last week, bringing the total for 2025 to 758. There were 38 EMS calls. There was one motor vehicle accident resulting in injuries at MM 210 of USH 51 in the Town of Merrill on Thursday April 24, and one call for smoke odor on E Main St in the City of Merrill on Saturday April 26. A call was received for an outdoor equipment fire on E Third St in the City of Merrill on Monday April 21.
