WAUSAU – A 33-year-old Alabama man will stand trial in connection with a violent assault case in Wausau dating back to 2023. Logan Craft had initially fought extradition to Wisconsin, causing delays in the legal process. He now faces several felony charges, including sexual assault, false imprisonment, strangulation, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities say Craft traveled to Wausau using the alias Wesley Taylor to meet a woman he had connected with online. He allegedly attacked her after she told him she didn’t want a relationship.…

Wisconsin residents now have the opportunity to become community scientists. The Department of Natural Resources announced yesterday that wildlife enthusiasts are invited to join the Game Bird Survey, which is designed to measure the reproductive status of game birds. The survey is open from now through the end of August, and DNR scientists will use data collected coupled with harvest information to determine the key elements needed to make informed management decisions for these species. MERRILL – A Merrill man charged in a roadside knife attack last fall was back in Lincoln County Court Wednesday for a sentencing hearing. Bradley Labarge, 32 of Merrill has been ordered to serve nearly 4 years in prison. Labarge was arrested in October of 2024 after he had been following a vehicle with an ex-girlfriend and another man, then had an altercation with the man outside of the vehicle where he cut him with a utility knife.
