SENTENCING HEARING HELD FOR MERRILL MAN CHARGED IN KNIFE ATTACK


MERRILL – A Merrill man charged in a roadside knife attack last fall was back in Lincoln County Court Wednesday for a sentencing hearing.

Bradley Labarge, 32 of Merrill has been ordered to serve nearly 4 years in prison. Labarge was arrested in October of 2024 after he had been following a vehicle with an ex-girlfriend and another man, then had an altercation with the man outside of the vehicle where he cut him with a utility knife. While Labarge had initially faced a total of six charges, he plead guilty to two last week and in exchange the four other charges were dismissed including attempted homicide.

Court records from Wednesday’s hearing reflect Labarge receiving a three year and nine-month prison sentence followed by nine years extended supervision. He was credited with 270 days time served. Additionally, Labarge was ordered to remit $3000 in restitution to the victim and to write a letter of apology.
