WISCONSIN DOJ INTRODUCES INITIATIVE TO ADDRESS OVERDOSE DEATHS

The Wisconsin Department of Justice has introduced the Overdose Death Initiative. The DOJ says the initiative’s mission is to investigate opioid overdoses and deaths, with a goal of identifying and apprehending individuals directly responsible for distributing opioids that resulted in deaths. Attorney General Josh Kaul says the initiative shows how teamwork in overdose investigations can make a difference. To date, 21 cases have been investigated, leading to 58 arrests and 10 reckless homicide charges.

MERRILL TOUR OF LIGHTS 2025 WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The City of Merrill has announced the winners for the Tour of Lights 2025.  They are: 1.       Doug and Renee Smith – 1204 E. Sixth Street 2.       Rachel Georgandas – 204 E. First Street 3.       Sandra Bagley – 1600 E. Sixth Street Organizers of the event reported that there was a great turnout of folks who chose to ride the Merrill-Go-Round to enjoy the Tour of Lights, and many others from around the community visited the 16 locations in their vehicles or on foot.
