REQUESTS FOR PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY MARATHON COUNTY FOR UWSP WAUSAU CAMPUS REDEVELOPMENT

A request for proposals has been issued by Marathon County officials focused on redevelopment of the UWSP at Wausau campus.

The plan is to transfer ownership of seven buildings by the end of 2026, so that the campus can be redeveloped to “serve the community in meaningful ways”, according to Chris Holman, the Deputy County of Public Works and Capital Projects. Anyone interested in  being a part of the development can attend a community meet-and-greet event at Marathon County’s Lake View Conference Center at 1000 Lake View Drive on Thursday, February 19th (Enter Door 31). Those submitting proposals are required to attend a mandatory campus walkthrough on March 3rd.

Locations that are a part of the RFP include:

The UWSP Main Campus Building – 518 S. 7th Avenue, Wausau
Center for Civic Engagement – 625 Stewart Avenue, Wausau
Fieldhouse – 608 S. 7th Avenue, Wausau
Marathon Hall – 615 Garfield Avenue, Wausau
(New) East Arts Building – Building A, 620 S. 7th Avenue, Wausau
(Old) West Arts Building – Building A, 620 S. 7th Avenue, Wausau
Central Heating Plant – 630 S. 7th Avenue, Wausau

The campus will close following the current academic year. Classes and faculty will relocate to the Wausau NTC campus this summer.
