MERRILL FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT: MAN RESCUED LAST MONDAY FROM ICE BREAK ON WISCONSIN RIVER

The Merrill Fire Department responded to 48 calls last week, bringing the total for 2026 to 330. There were 42 EMS calls.

There was a water rescue involving an individual being pulled from the Wisconsin River on Monday after he had broken through the ice while in his fishing shanty.
