WILDFIRE DANGER ELEVATED, RECENT ONEIDA COUNTY FIRE SPARKED BY BURNING DEBRIS

At least eight wildland fires have been reported over the past week across Oneida, Vilas, Lincoln, Langlade and Price Counties, as wildfire danger remains elevated despite recent rain. One of those fires broke out late last week on EZ Drive in the Town of Pelican. Crews arrived to find about an acre already burned, with flames moving into nearby woods. LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT: SUSPECT REMAINS AT LARGE IN TOWN OF SCHLEY FAMILY ALTERCATION

Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 52 traffic stops and 44 security checks. There were two calls involving cars hitting deer, one call where a car hit a turkey, and one call for a car striking a Bald Eagle.    On Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to the Town of Schley regarding a disturbance where Grandfather claimed his Grandson had attacked him with a stick, knocking him to the ground causing him injury.
