LOCALS FLOCK TO DOWNTOWN MERRILL TO ENJOY WEEKEND HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS
MERRILL – The weekend was packed with holiday celebrations in Merrill. Friday night, Merrill Park and Recreation’s Winter Wonderland at the AGRA Pavilion drew about 250 children for their first visit with Santa. Park City Credit Union hosted a bonfire, Geiss Meats served hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies, and the 4th and 5th grade and high school choirs performed Christmas favorites.
On Friday and Saturday, the Polka-Dotted Pie held its 13th Annual Holiday Open House, and the O’ Tannenbaum Tour welcomed a steady stream of visitors at St. Stephens United Church of Christ.
Crowds filled downtown Saturday evening for the Annual Christmas Parade, and after Santa’s big arrival closed the event, spectators moved down Main Street to the Courthouse for the traditional Christmas Tree and Wreath Lighting countdown.
