MERRILL – On Monday March 3rd at 7:27pm, the Merrill Police Department received a call that a driver had crashed into a tree and it was possible that he was intoxicated. The officer who came to the scene observed characteristics indicative of intoxication, and the driver agreed to perform field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

It was reported to be a physical altercation where the son had punched his father in the face. Upon arrival deputies separated the 49-year-old father from Merrill from his 24-year-old son, also from Merrill. Read MoreLINCOLN COUNTY – Lincoln County has seen an increase in hospitalizations over the past month from a major cause of respiratory illness, Respiratory Syncytial Virus. Those hospitalized are infants or adults over the age of 60. Those infected with RSV usually exhibit signs within four to six days after infection, showing typical cold systems along with wheezing and a decreased appetite.
