Deputies responded to 8 calls involving cars hitting deer, and one call of a car hitting a bear. Deputies followed up on 9 calls for unsafe driving. LINCOLN COUNTY – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 42 traffic stops last week. There were 40 security checks. Deputies responded to seven calls involving cars hitting deer and one where a car hit a coyote. Deputies followed up on eight calls for unsafe driving, including a complaint of a driver swerving all over the road on USH 51 near the Town of Pine River. The deputy noticed signs of impairment, and following the completion of field sobriety tests the 27-year-old Gleason woman was taken into custody for first offense OWI.

During one stop, a deputy on patrol observed a vehicle leaving a Kwik Trip on East Main St in Merrill, that he recognized as a vehicle of interest by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office for involvement in a shoplifting case. Upon locating the items that had been stolen in the vehicle, the alleged subject was transported to the Oneida County line where she was turned over to the investigating deputy. LINCOLN COUNTY – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 42 traffic stops last week. There was a report of one crash with multiple injuries on US Hwy 8 near Honey Rd, in the Township of Wilson. Deputies from both Lincoln and Oneida counties were dispatched to the scene.  There were 33 security checks performed. Deputies also responded to 2 calls involving cars hitting deer and followed up on 14 calls for unsafe driving. The 911 center took seven nuisance calls. There were two hang-up calls.

LINCOLN COUNTY – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 56 traffic stops last week. There was one crash in the town of Birch on US Hwy 51 north of County Hwy V where a driver stated that he believed he had fallen asleep at the wheel causing his vehicle to veer off the road and into a nearby field. Minor injuries to the driver were reported.  Deputies responded to 13 calls involving cars hitting animals, 10 of those involving deer. There were 24 security checks. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 38 traffic stops last week. There were 12 crashes, one in the Town of Pine River where a 25-year-old Waupaca man was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle. The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. There was also a disorderly conduct incident in the Town of Somo involving a heavily intoxicated 24-year-old male resisting arrest.
