MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 11 incidents last week. Officers conducted approximately 25 traffic stops and 117 security checks. There were two instances of probation violations. and three reports of domestic disturbance and disorderly conduct. MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office have recently welcomed new Law Enforcement officers to their respective teams. The Police Department announced the onboarding of Officers Emily Treglowne, a recent graduate of MidState Technical College, and Benjamin Smith, a graduate of Northcentral Tech. Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 30 traffic stops and 17 security checks. There were seven calls involving cars hitting deer. On Thursday, deputies were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle crash with injuries in the area of STH 64 and Monteray Dr. The vehicle involved had rolled over and the 48-yr-old female driver from Merrill was ejected and found lying in the ditch. MERRILL – Marshfield Clinic is currently recruiting Merrill residents to participate in a long-term, nationwide cancer prevention study. Led by the National Cancer Institute, the Connection for Cancer Prevention Study (a.k.a. Connect) brings innovative cancer research to the area through Marshfield. Due to the Lincoln County Veterans Service Officer being on Family Medical Leave, the County Veterans Service Office announced on Friday June 6 a temporary postponement of its scheduled outreach appointments. LINCOLN COUNTY ANNOUNCES COOLING CENTER LIST FOR SUMMER OF ’25

LINCOLN COUNTY – In anticipation of the warmer temperatures coming our way, Lincoln County has released the list of cooling centers for the summer season. Cooling centers are air-conditioned facilities that offer residents relief from extreme heat during business hours. There are currently 12 cooling centers throughout Lincoln County – 7 locations in Merrill, 4 in Tomahawk and 1 in Gleason.
