SUMMER CHIP SEALING PROJECTS IN FULL SWING ON LINCOLN COUNTY ROADWAYS
Lincoln County Highway Department crews have begun chip sealing work across the County. On Monday morning road workers completed the process on Gouda, Mount & West and Stone Roads in Harrison, with a plan to seal Pickerel Creek and Pine Point Roads as well as Sandy Lane in the Town of King in the afternoon. The department utilizes the chip-sealing process to prolong pavement life at a greatly reduced time commitment, resulting in much lower costs than major resurfacing projects. A thin layer of liquid asphalt is covered with tiny stone chips that create a seal as the surface hardens. The process can usually be completed within one day.
CTH D in King and Harrison and Rock Falls Drive in Rock Falls are planned for completion later this week, weather permitting.
