Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 71 traffic stops and 25 security checks. There were four calls involving cars hitting deer, and there was one call where a car struck a bear. Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in progress in the Town of King on Thursday. A 51-yr-old woman from Tomahawk had reported the incident. AUGUST 15TH ROLLOVER ACCIDENT ON STH 17 LEAVES DRIVER WITH “SIGNIFICANT INJURY”

TOWN OF HARRISON – Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a one car crash with injuries on STH 17 near Braun Rd in the Town of Harrison last Friday. Deputies learned that the 28-yr-old male driver from Rhinelander was traveling N/B on STH 17 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over. Speeding appeared to be a contributing factor in the accident. The driver sustained a significant injury to his left arm and was subsequently transported to the Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital by ambulance.

MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT WEEK ENDING AUGUST 10

MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 13 incidents last week. Officers conducted approximately 50 traffic stops and 124 security checks. There were two instances of theft, three reports of disorderly conduct, four reports of probation violations and bail jumping, a report of a hit and run, and one instance of property damage. During a traffic stop for a registration violation on Wednesday, citations were issued for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. On Thursday, an individual was cited for underage drinking at the Lincoln County Fair.
