PLAN AHEAD FOR WINTER STORMS TO AVOID UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES
As Winter Weather Awareness Week continues, the Lincoln County Health Department is reminding the community that having a Winter Storm Planning Timeline can prove critical as residents prepare for the potential of a significant weather event. A few days before a storm arrives, gather emergency supplies for your home and car, check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and fuel up vehicle and heating resources. The day prior to it’s arrival, adjust plans accordingly, line up a variety of ways to receive warnings, and bring pets indoors ensuring they have enough water. During and after a big storm be sure to check on neighbors and family, properly ventilate emergency heat sources, position generators at least 20 feet from your home, and don’t overdo it when shoveling.
