HOMELESS MAN’S VEHICLE ENDS UP IN DITCH, TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON TWO ACTIVE WARRANTS

TOWN OF SCHLEY – On Friday December 5th, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report in the Town of Schley after a homeowner said a man claiming to be homeless showed up asking for help. Deputies located the 24-year-old from Oshkosh, who said he had put his car in the ditch and had no money. A records check showed two active warrants out of Winnebago County. He was taken into custody and brought to the Lincoln County Jail. First responders from Russell assisted in removing and securing his vehicle.

MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT; TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO K-9 DASTY POSITIVE ALERT FOR METHAMPHETAMINE

During the week ending December 7, the Merrill Police Department responded to fourteen incidents, while officers conducted approximately twelve traffic stops and 38 security checks. On Wednesday a woman reported that she accidentally left her cash at a store’s self-checkout, and another customer picked it up and used it. Staff recognized the customer, and officers contacted her. The woman said she took the money by mistake, and it was returned to the rightful owner.
