BLUEJAY GIRLS CELEBRATE DECISIVE WIN OVER HODAGS

In a game heard right here on WJMT, wjmtfm.com and seen on our WJMT TV Channel on YouTube, the Merrill Bluejay girls defeated the Rhinelander Hodags 13-6 in Great Northern Conference softball action yesterday at the MARC.  The win raises the Bluejays conference record to 2-1 and avenges a loss Tuesday on the road to the Medford Raiders.

Abbie Krueger got the win inside the circle for the Bluejays, with Jacie Lyon getting the save.  The Bluejays put the game away in the sixth, scoring six runs capped by a grand slam home run by senior catcher Maddie Ragala, earning her kudos as the AmericInn Bluejay player of the game.

The Bluejay girls will be in action for four games next week, beginning with a non-conference game on the road Monday against the Wausau East Lumberjacks.  You can catch all the action right her on WJMT and wjmtfm.com, with the pre-game beginning at 4:45 and first pitch at 5:00.

In other upcoming action, the Bluejay boys’ baseball team will have a varsity game against Waunakee on the road Saturday followed by a varsity reserve game.  You can catch all the action tomorrow for both games on the diamond with pre-game coverage starting at 10:45.
