LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT: MOTORCYCLE VS DEER CRASH IN TOWN OF RUSSELL

Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 34 traffic stops and 24 security checks. There were 13 calls involving cars hitting deer. On Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the Town of Russell on State Highway 17 near County Highway X for a motorcycle vs deer crash. Reports stated the driver had sustained a major head injury but was breathing. Investigation at the scene revealed the motorcycle struck a deer while travelling northbound on State Highway 17. Motorcyclist Hurt in Oneida County Crash

A motorcycle vs pickup truck collision in Oneida County early Sunday resulted in one person being injured. The Pine Lake Fire Department says emergency crews were called just after midnight to the area of River Road and Forest Point Drive. The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Aspirus Hospital for treatment of injuries. The pickup driver was not hurt. Authorities have not released any additional details. Emergency personnel remained at the scene for about an hour.

SUMMER HEAT TURNS ATTENTION TO OPPORTUNITIES FOR RELIEF FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS

With temperatures forecast in the mid to high 80’s and low 90’s for the majority of this week with humid conditions, the Lincoln County Health Department is pointing residents toward their list of cooling centers. These centers welcome members of the public who are seeking relief from the heat and humidity during business hours. A total of 14 Cooling Centers are available across Lincoln County: eight in Merrill, five in Tomahawk, and one in Gleason.
