LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT: MOTORCYCLE VS DEER CRASH IN TOWN OF RUSSELL
Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 34 traffic stops and 24 security checks. There were 13 calls involving cars hitting deer.
On Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the Town of Russell on State Highway 17 near County Highway X for a motorcycle vs deer crash. Reports stated the driver had sustained a major head injury but was breathing. Investigation at the scene revealed the motorcycle struck a deer while travelling northbound on State Highway 17. The driver, a 24-year-old Gleason man was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred. He was transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital via ambulance.
