Friday afternoon, the City of Merrill dedicated the new maintenance hangar at the Merrill Municipal Airport. “We are so pleased to have this hangar open. Underdown Trail Races Put Runners, Mountain Bikers to the Test

The Underdown trails in Lincoln County hosted runners and mountain bikers Saturday for the 2026 version of the annual Underdown Trail Races. The event featured 60-K, marathon and half-marathon trail runs, along with mountain-bike races covering 16, 37 and 111 miles. The mountain-bike competition was part of the Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Biking Series. Organizers describe the courses as challenging, with steep hills, remote areas, isolated lakes and numerous boardwalks along primarily single-track trails. The event was based at the Prairie Dells trailhead, about six miles off Highway 51.
