BLUEJAY GIRLS FALL 14-0 TO MOSINEE

In a game heard right here on WJMT and wjmtfm.com yesterday, the Merrill Bluejay girls’ softball team fell to the Division 2 third ranked Mosinee Indians on the road 14-0 in 4 1/2 innings.  Neither Bluejay starter Jacey Lyon nor reliever Abbie Krueger could stem the vaunted Indian attack, as Mosinee batted around in each of the first three innings while amassing a 14-0 lead.  The Bluejays could only muster three singles in the losing effort, which saw their record fall to 10-9 on the season, while the Indians’ record rose to 17-3.

The girls return to conference play on Thursday against the Tomahawk Hatchets at the MARC, while the boys play Wausau East at Athletic Park on Friday.  Game coverage on both days begins with the Nicolet bank pre-game show at 4:45 and first pitch at 5:00.  Action both days can be heard on WJMT and wjmtfm.com and seen on the WJMT TV Channel on YouTube.
