The Merrill Police Department responded to 11 incidents last week. One call was for a missing person at an assisted living residence. The person was located later outside of the facility, as they hadn’t been signed out properly. Three calls were received for domestic disturbances and disorderly conduct, one resulting in a man receiving a citation for OWI. Merrill Fire Department Report For Week Ending June 30

The Merrill Fire Department responded to 41 calls last week. This brings the total for 2024 to 1092 calls. One call was for a motor vehicle accident resulting in an injury. There were 37 calls requesting EMS services. There was one alert from an alarm system activation that was unintentional with no fire on site. There was one call regarding a downed power line. One building fire was also reported.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Report For Week Ending June 30; Disorderly Conduct Incident Leads To Damage Of County Vehicle

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 38 traffic stops last week. There were 12 crashes, one in the Town of Pine River where a 25-year-old Waupaca man was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle. The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. There was also a disorderly conduct incident in the Town of Somo involving a heavily intoxicated 24-year-old male resisting arrest. MAPS Considering Options For Sale Or Consolidation Of Current School Operations

MERRILL – In April of 2024, Merrill Area Public Schools presented a plan to voters proposing the relocation of several operations into the vacant Jefferson Elementary Building. Also proposed was moving Central Office operations into the high school and replacing the current maintenance facilities. The capital referendum, which would streamline operations and save money, was voted down. Second Name Released In Connection With June 24 Lincoln Hills Incident

LINCOLN COUNTY – On Thursday, June 27th, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 17-year-old Rian Nyblom in connection with the assault that took place on Monday June 24th at Lincoln Hills School resulting in the death of a staff member. Nyblom was incarcerated in the same unit as Javarius Hurd when the assault took place. He has been charged with Felony Murder and two counts of Battery by Prisoners as party to a crime. LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office recently recognized Deputy Mike Sundquist for 20 years of service. Sundquist began his career as a Patrol Deputy when he was hired by Sheriff Tom Koth on June 14, 2004.
