Marathon County Disaster Recovery Center Opens to Help Storm and Flood Victims

RINGLE, Wis. — A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is now open in Marathon County to assist residents affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred between April 13 and April 23, 2026.

The center provides in-person assistance for individuals with uninsured losses or emergency needs related to the disaster. Staff from FEMA and other state and federal agencies are available to help residents apply for disaster assistance, check the status of an application, answer questions about the appeals process and connect people with available recovery resources.

The Disaster Recovery Center is located at:

Town of Ringle Municipal Center
223207 Abt Road
Ringle, WI 54471

Hours: Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The center will remain open until further notice. Residents are encouraged to check Marathon County’s website for the latest hours before visiting, as schedules may change.

FEMA assistance may help cover uninsured disaster-related expenses, including basic home repairs, personal property losses, childcare, transportation, medical costs, funeral expenses and certain dental expenses.

Officials remind applicants that receiving a FEMA determination letter stating they “cannot be approved” for certain categories of assistance does not necessarily mean they have been denied all assistance. Applicants should read the letter carefully, as it explains their application status and outlines any additional steps needed to continue the process.

Residents are not required to visit a Disaster Recovery Center to apply for FEMA assistance. Applications can be submitted online through DisasterAssistance.gov, by using the FEMA mobile app, or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Applicants are encouraged to create an online account after applying to track their application, upload requested documents and receive updates.

The deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance is August 31, 2026.
