Driver Sought After Pedestrian Hit in Merrill Hit-and-Run

Deputies were called to the intersection of County Road K and Lake Pesobic Road around two o’clock Sunday morning, after a man was found lying in the roadway.

Investigators say the man had been walking along County Road K when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. The driver did not stop. The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken by Merrill Fire Department ambulance to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is likely a truck with damage to its passenger-side rearview mirror.The victim has little memory of the crash and was unable to provide a description of the vehicle.

Anyone who may have seen a truck with damage to its passenger-side mirror, or who was in the area between two and three Sunday morning, is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office with any information that could help investigators identify the driver.
