MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 21

MERRILL – During the week ending September 21, the Merrill Police Department responded to 21 incidents, while officers conducted approximately 30 traffic stops and 85 security checks. There were five reports of Disorderly Conduct, one of those with a motor vehicle. There were five reports of possession of an illegal or unauthorized substance – two of those involving minors, four reports of theft, and four reports of bail jumping and probation violation.

Other instances included unlawful communication via email, lost and found, misuse of 911 services, and assisting the Lincoln County Sheriffs office following a deer strike by a vehicle on USH 51 while deputies were busy on an unrelated matter.

On Thursday officers followed up on a complaint of an intoxicated driver, eventually locating the vehicle and placing the driver under arrest for OWI 3rd offense along with multiple drug charges.
