MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 11 incidents last week. Officers conducted approximately 25 traffic stops and 117 security checks. There were two instances of probation violations. and three reports of domestic disturbance and disorderly conduct. There were four calls for disorderly conduct.  There was one request for assistance with a probation hold, one instance of theft, and one situation where an officer assisted in locating a lost item.  There was one call regarding an attempted break in at a local business, and one call regarding a student at a local school with a vape in their possession. Officers were dispatched to the scene of a 2-vehicle crash at E 6th and Mill St’s on Saturday 5/10.

There were two reports of unsafe or inattentive driving, one where a juvenile motorist was attempting to take a selfie while operating her vehicle. There was one instance of possession of illegal substances in a parked car that led to the arrest of both individuals in the vehicle, including a probation hold, and one instance of OWI during a traffic stop involving an ATV operator who attempted to elude the officer.
