MERRILL – During the week ending November 16, the Merrill Police Department responded to 14 incidents, while officers conducted approximately 33 traffic stops and 44 security checks. On Friday a school bus had stopped at a railroad crossing with two vehicles behind it when a third vehicle rear-ended one of the vehicles, resulting in damage to all three vehicles involved. MERRILL – During the week ending November 2nd, the Merrill Police Department responded to 20 incidents, while officers conducted approximately 40 traffic stops and 36 security checks. On Friday a request was submitted for a welfare check because a 20-yr-old male who was intoxicated was causing a disturbance. After an investigation of the incident the man was being transported to jail and he bit the door panel inside the squad car. There were two instances of theft, three reports of disorderly conduct, four reports of probation violations and bail jumping, a report of a hit and run, and one instance of property damage. During a traffic stop for a registration violation on Wednesday, citations were issued for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. On Thursday, an individual was cited for underage drinking at the Lincoln County Fair.
